Synopsis
Ecotect offers a comprehensive set of tools for shadows and shading analysis. This tutorial explains how to configure and display some of the various shading options in your Ecotect model.

Resources Required
To complete this tutorial, you will need access to the ExampleHouse.eco file located in the Examples folder of your Ecotect installation.
Tutorial
- To display shadows from particular objects or surfaces within your model, first select the objects you wish to cast shadows from. For this example, select the objects found on the Garage zone, as shown in the following screenshot.
Select the objects on the Garage zone, as shown. - Go to the Shadow Settings panel. Place a check in the checkbox next to the Selected Objects Only option.
Check the Selected Objects Only checkbox. - Now turn on shadows in your Ecotect model, and note how only the selected objects are now casting shadows.
Shadows only appear from selected objects. - To reset the shadows display back to normal, uncheck the Selected Objects Only checkbox item.
