This dialog box allows you to control application-wide settings and set them as your preferred default values. You can access this dialog using the View » Settings... item in the Main Menu or the Settings icon in the View Control area of either main application window.
Custom Colours
Use the left mouse button to click on any of the colour blocks to display the Windows Colour Selector dialog box. The colours in each block determine how different elements in the main display areas are drawn. So select a block using the keyboard, use the Alt key together with the first letter (underlined) in its title.
Apply to 3D Model
The DISPLAY OPTIONS panel allows you to over-ride the default colours for the 3D Model. If you check this option, the currently selected colours will be applied both to the main window as well as the 3D model.
Store as Default
Select this button to store your currently selected colour settings as the default start-up values in SolarTool. This button only applies to the selected colour values.
Dimensions and Increments
Dimension Units
Select the units you would like to display and enter all dimension values in. For more information on the required format, see the Inputting Dimensions page.
PageUp/PageDn Incr.
This group of controls determine the base increment for all edit boxes containing values of that type when you use the PageUp/PageDn keys or the mouse wheel to change them.
Store as Default
Select this button to store the values in this block as the default start-ups for for all subsequent SolarTool sessions.
Store Date/Time/Location
Select this button to store the currently set date and time as the default start-up date and time for all subsequent SolarTool sessions.
Window Layout
The items in this group allow you to control the layout of the two main application windows.
3D Model Always on Top
Check this box to have the 3D Model Window always be on the top of the window stack - always showing in front of the Sun-Path Window even if you are clicking in the sun-path diagram.
Store as Default
Select this button to store the layout settings as the default start-ups for for all subsequent SolarTool sessions.
Mouse Wheel Updates Model in Real-Time
Check this box to have the model interactively update whenever you use the mouse wheel to change a parametric value. If unchecked, you must double-click the value, hold the Alt key down or press the Enter key to have it applied.
