contribute

We are currently in the process of reformatting all our help documentation into on-line docbooks. Using this wiki, any user can edit and contribute to this process. Thus, if you feel that there is something missing or not well covered in any particular help file, then feel free to add or edit the appropriate pages.

Any registered user can add, edit or update the content on this site. Site registration is completely free, open to anyone and can be done within minutes using the LOGIN area located on the right of this text.

Vandalism and Abuse

Obviously this level of freedom within the site brings with it a similar level of responsibility, especially when re-writting or deleting someone else's work. Whilst it is inevitable that there will be some vandalism and abuse of the system,

All changes to the contents of the site are monitored and a full revision history is maintained of all pages. It doesn't take much to vandalise a page or write something stupid just for the hell of it - which will quickly get you blacklisted if you cannot properly explain yourself. On the other hand it does take something extra to make a real contribution on a topic and seek to share it with others.

Ecotect Tutorials

Many tutorials call for downloading 'zip' files to be found in the 'file attachment section' of that tutorial. I have not been able to find this particular section. Any help in doing so shall be appreciated.

ECOTECT

I am at the early stages of my renewable energy study and doing sun path diagrams, shading etc for site selection etc for solar devices. Later in the course we do building design in more detail.

My query is whether Ecotect incorporates the Solar Tool software that I could use as Solar Tool software for the level I am at now. In other words, if I buy Ecotect does Solar Tool come with it or are the solar tools aspects in Ecotect more complex and more for the architects than the renewable energy installers/advisors?

Thanks Mike

comment posted by rout :: 24 July 2008 - 11:14am

Hi,

Last few days I have been trying to export Ecotect file to Equest/Doe2 input file(*.inp), but when i export it shows few errors. Finally I downloaded an Ecotect sample files from the site and exported them.

Then when I imported the file to Equest, it also displayed few errors. But then the file got imported only with the materials. The corresponding model is not visible while the materails are only seen in the material list....

Please reply any information on the same......

Thanks

Rout

Would it be at all possible for a user to build a printable pdf or office document from content on your wiki? Say by adding content to a collection that may appear on the side of the website. This collection could then perhaps be re-ordered and then downloaded as pdf?
